Mine vCenter is already installed. the details abut mine installation are into 2020.04.7 – Building a VMware vSphere Virtual Lab with VMware Fusion – Part 3: Deploying vCenter Server Appliance

I found detail of what I can use to open and use vSphere Web Client on internet Log in to vCenter Server by Using the vSphere Web Client

My Hardware and Software I use:

  • Nested virtualisation
  • Use MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016):
    • macOS Catalina version 10.15.3
    • Processor 2,9 GHs Quad-Core Intel
    • Memory 16 GB 2133 MHsLPDDR3 (of RAM)
  • Installed and use VMware Fusion PRO Version 11.5.3: this allows the hardware assisted virtualisation feature of the CPU to be used in a virtual machine.
  • Install and use VMware vSphere vCenter 6.7.0

To Do Guid

Log in to vCenter Server by using the vSphere Web Client to manage your vSphere inventory.

In vSphere 6.0 and later, the vSphere Web Client is installed as part of the vCenter Server on vCenter Server Appliance deployment. This way, the vSphere Web Client always points to the same vCenter Single Sign-On instance.

Procedure

  1. Open a Web browser and enter the URL for the vSphere Web Client: https://vcenter_server_ip_address_or_fqdn/vsphere-client
  2. Enter the credentials of a user who has permissions on vCenter Server, and click Login.

Some photo about what I do

  • After power-on the vCenter I need to have paciense because it take a lot of time to power-on completely
  • When I use simple https://vc01.silvique.ro/ I have possibility to chose what version to open/use.
  • When I use https://vc01.silvique.ro/vsphere-client/, pr the old version, it seems I need to install Adobe
  • I click to Get Adobe Flash Player and the downloading page open. I select the first simple Adobe
  • It is downloaded so I click to install

Now I can use it!

Important Note

This tutorial about how to use vSphere Web Client … helps me to apply what I need and I find o internet tutorials that are base on this Web Client.

But when I open vSphere Web Client using https://vcenter_server_ip_address_or_fqdn/vsphere-client I get the message:

The vSphere Flash-based Web Client is deprecated in vSphere 6.7. We recommend switching to the all-new modern HTML5-based vSphere client as the primary client and only reverting to the Flash-based Web Client when necessary.

  • Click Launch vSphere Client (HTTP5)
  • I get inside of the version I already use, in to https://vcenter_server_ip_address_or_fqdn/.

I understand that depending on what I want to do and the tutorial I find I will use the necessary version.

Important Note: Opening and using I’ve discovered that old web client is horrible to use. A friend remember that when VMware replaced the old C# client with the web client everyone was complaining. The new HTML5 client is better than the old web client but still not as good as the C# client for direct management of an ESXi host. Management through vCenter with the web client is good though.
